Among the lush green squash fields in Loofaa’s raw material area, there is a man who is quietly attached to each squash trellis and each crop as if caring for a part of his flesh and blood. He is Le Trong Duyen – Head of the raw material area of the company, a silent man but plays an important role in the sustainable development journey of Loofaa.

The man of the land
As a son of the traditional squash growing land, Mr. Le Trong Duyen is loved by everyone in the area not only for his honest and enthusiastic personality but also for his dedication and high responsibility in his work. At the age of over 50, he is always present in the field the earliest, monitoring each stage of the growth of the squash plant – a plant that seems simple but requires a lot of understanding and patience.
“To grow luffa for fiber, you have to understand the plant and the soil. On days when it rains and shines erratically, I go to check each trellis to promptly remind farmers to handle it. If the luffa is damaged, the fiber is of poor quality, affecting the entire production chain,” Mr. Duyen shared.
A person who controls quality from the root
As the Head of the Loofaa raw material area, Mr. Duyen not only takes care of luffa like a diligent farmer but also plans and develops the long-term raw material area for the company. He directly urges farmers to take care of the plants according to the correct process, provides technical guidance to increase productivity, and at the same time controls the quality of input materials before harvesting.
Thanks to his strictness and extensive experience in growing, caring for and harvesting luffa properly, Mr. Duyen has made an important contribution to maintaining a clean and stable source of luffa fiber – a key factor for the company to develop natural consumer product lines, serving not only the domestic market but also exporting to international markets.
Passion for luffa – for Loofaa
Some people call him “the keeper of luffa”, others call him “the one who spreads the flame of green life”. No matter what role he plays, Mr. Duyen always has a deep love for nature, for luffa – a simple but valuable plant.
Mr. Duyen and General Director Nguyen Phu Tung welcomed Korean partners to visit the raw material area.
“Luffa is an asset of this region. I am happy to see it helps create jobs, create good products for consumers. Even happier is when the people here are proud that their region has products that go everywhere,” he smiled simply.
Thanks to the diligent hands, sense of responsibility and passion for the profession, Loofaa’s loofah products have been present in many countries around the world such as the US, Japan, Korea… – carrying the value of naturalness, cleanliness and love for the profession of people like Mr. Duyen.
